COLD AND CHANGEABLE Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the' Meteorologcial Office in Wellington:— Situation.—There is a very deep depression south of the South Island. Forecast up to 5 p.m. To-day.—Fresh south-westerly winds, strong at times on the coast; weather cold, changeable, and showery, wtih some snow likely on the ranges. Further Outlook. —Continuing cold and showery. Weather in Diuiedin.— Temperature* were mild in Dunedin yesterday, and there was a light breeze from the northwest. The sky was cloudy for the greater part of the day. The barometer dropped sharply during the day. the reading at midnight being 29.38 in (995 millibars).
