HUNT MEETING
KEEN PLAY IN FAVOUR (Special) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 31. The weather appears to be settled and the prospects are favourable for the Victory meeting of the Taranaki and Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Clubs at New Plymouth to-morrow. The track has had a good soaking during the week, but it recovers quickly, and was cutting out only slightly this morning. Provided no rain falls during the night it will be in good order, though easy, for the racing to-morrow. - Scratchings are: Kilmanagh (the Hunt Cup), Bunsby (the Hack Hurdles), and Lucky Dip (the Weraroa Stakes). Betting will be win-and-place, and horses likely to be well supported are: .11.32: Hack Hurdles.—Foxbrae, Kiwi Pai, Spiro. 12.12: Weraroa Stakes—First division: Te Heroine, Golden Kea. Second division: El Santo, Pay Acre. 12.57: Waihi Handicap.—Mr Cute, Silver Pal, Foxstar. 1.37: Hunt Cup.—Lightfair, if scratched Baron Bold, Golden Memory, Edward.
