WIN FOR SOUTHLAND
In a curtain-raiser at Carisbrook, the Southland referees defeated the Otago referees by 5 points to nil after a bright display. I. Mills scored the only try of the game from a loose rush in the second spell and A. J. McKenzie converted it. Mr L. E. Macassey was the referee.
