COLD AND SHOWERY Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— _ Situation.—There is a deep depression south of the Chathams and an anti-cyclone over the Tasman. Forecast up to 5 p.m. To-day.— South-westerly winds; weather changeable with wintry showers, but some fair intervals; temperatures very cold, with snow on the hills. Further Outlook.—Similar conditions. Weather in Dunedin.—A cold southerly wind prevailed yesterday, and there was intermittent sunshine. Temperatures reached a minimum of 30deg and the barometer rose slowly throughout the day to 30.15 inches (1021 millibars) at midnight. The following are the meteorological observations taken yesterday at the Daily Times Office:— ■
