BRITISH SHIPPING LINES

RELAXATION OF CONTROLS (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 27. It is expected that British shipping lines which are under the Ministry of War Transport will, before the autumn, be partly freed from Government control. says the Daily Express. This is one of the decisions reached at a series of conferences between representatives of all sections of the shipping industry, including workers’ organisations. It was also desided: First, on a resumption before the autumn of scheduled trans-Atlantic passenger services, and secondly, the placing at once of new mail contracts with the bigger lines.
