AMERICAN NAVAL MIGHT

OVER 100,000 VESSELS

WASHINGTON, May 27. A survey of naval power reveals that the United States at present has 107,586 ships, ranging from battleships and giant carriers to tiny patrol boats and landing barges, says the United Press.

In addition, the United States has under construction 19,882 ships, including 2 battleships, 15 aircraft carriers, 30 carrier escorts, 47 cruisers, 104 destroyers, 6 destroyer escorts, 22 fast transports, and 45 submarines.
