SIGNS OF COMFORT

HITLER’S LUXURY ROOMS LONDON, May 27. A group of Soviet journalists who visited Hitler’s luxurious study and living rooms in Berlin report that the man who flooded Europe with blood was fond of sketching idyllic scenes, houses nestling among trees and moonlit streams, says the Soviet News Agency It adds that scattered on the table, the floor, and the armchairs of the study are autographed photographs, evidently representing his retinue; while piled up on the desk are albums of photographs showing Hitler in various poses, usually with his arms crossed like Napoleon. Beside the desk is an enormous writing set, including Bismarck’s goose quills, which Hitler always used. Next to the writing set is a thick volume containing a treatise on Hitler’s family tree, purporting to prove that his family is descended from “ great Germ Th S ere were also a large number of sketches, which were ridiculous doodling in pencil and colours. Hitler’s bomb shelter is a monumental fivestory building dug deep into the earth His two-room apartment is in the lowest part. Here on the table of the living rooms were a half-bottle of wine and several glasses.
