The Court of Arbitration has announced its decision in the application for an amendment to the New Zealand harbour boards’ employees’ award under the Economic Stabilisation Emergency Regulations. Rates of wages have been increased as follows:—By 10s a week for all male and female workers of the age of 21 years and over whose ordinary weekly hours of work are 40 or less per week; by 11s per week for workers whose ordinary weekly hours of work exceed 40, and by 7s 6d for all workers under the age of 21 years, provided that when they reach the age of 21 years their wages shall be increased by a further 2s 6d or 3s 6d, as the case may be. A worker who is required to work overtime after 6 p.m. shall be paid 2s meal money
