HEAVY FOG IN SYDNEY

TRAFFIC PARALYSED (Bee. 1 a.m.) SYDNEY, Apl. 23. One of the worst logs in memory blanketed Sydney until a late hour this morning, paralysing harbour and air traffic. Thousands of workers normally dependent upon the harbour ferry services for transport were hours late for work or took the day off when overtaxed auxiliary tram and bus services were unable to cope with swarms of passengers. All air traffic in and out of Sydney ceased. The New South Wales Meteorologist. Mr J. Newman, reported that the maximum visibility in most areas was a good deal under 100 yards.
