Mr E. J. Smith, the recentlyappointed chief postmaster of Dunedin, took up his new duties on Saturday. Colonel Roberts, a member of the Australian Army Public Relations Directorate, will arrive in Dunedin from the north to-morrow afternoon. A Press Association cable message from Ottawa says that Sir Patrick Duff, the newly-appointed High Commissioner for Great Britain in New Zealand, with Lady Duff, left on Saturday en route to New Zealand.
