ANZAC DAY SERVICE

A service of remembrance was held at Waitaki Boys’ High School on Wednesday for - present pupils, old boys ' and parents. It was probably one of the most impressive services held in the hall for many years. It commenced with the parade imq the hall of the members of the Board of Governors, Mr J. T. Burrows (rector), masters, and members of the Old Boys’ Executive and branch, accompanied by nine boys, who formed the guard of honour.' The programme was as follows:—School song; preparatory reading, Mr Burrows; roll call, Mr W. Uttley and W. Hall (head prefect); placing of wreaths; prayer for the departed, Mr Burrows; the Lord’s Prayer, sung by pupils; hymn, “ For AU the Saints "; reading, Ephesians vi. 10 to 18, “ Let Us Now Praise Famous Men,” Mr W. Grant; prayer, Mr J. A. Meldrum; hymn, “ Let Us Now Praise Famous Men ” ; address on “Anzac and its Meaning,” Mr G. Panckhurst; *’ Last Post ” and reveille.
