IMPORT LICENSING

AMENDMENTS TO SCHEDULE Advice has been received by the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce of the recent decisions relating to the Import Licensing Schedule for the 1945 period. These are as follows: Citric Acid—ex item 95.—Application for licences to import citric add from the United’ Kingdom and Australia .will be considered from regular Importers thereof. Sanitary earthenware (excluding earthware chambers, etc.) —ex item 215.—The allocation for imports of earthenware sanitary (excluding earthenware chambers, etc.) from the United Kingdom has been Increased from 100 to 200 per cent, of the value of imports of similar goods from the same source in 1938. Parts for domestic radio sets—ex Item 338 (4).—lnclusive of licences already issued licences for imports of parts for domestic radio sets from any source may be granted to the extent of 70 per cent, of the amounts of licences granted for imports from the same source during 1941 of electric appliances peculiar to electroplating, electro-chemistry, electro-metal-lurgy, telegraphy, telephony (exclud'ng cabinets for wireless broadcast receiving sets) and electrical vacuum tubes not suited for purposes of illumination. The licences are to be made out specifically for parts of domestic radio sets and they are to be noted to Indicate that the undermentioned goods will not be permitted to be imported under them: —Cabinets, rheostats and resistances, transformers, chokes, radio frequency coils, radio frequency un'ts, valve shields, coal cans, chassis, dial mechanism, dial scales, and complete dials, suited for use in wireless broadcast receiving sets, loud-speakers (including parts, except paper speaker cones, for the assembly thereof) suited for use in wireless broadcast receiving sets; valves, metal, glass, GT or GT/G of types 6 x 5, 6 u 7. 6 K 7, and 6 V 6..
