EMPIRE COUNTRIES
CONTRIBUTION TO THE WAR
PRAISE FROM LORD NUFFIELD (Rec. 9.15 p.m.) LONDON, Apl. 7. Describing his Commonwealth tour as one of the most inspiring and most interesting experiences of his life, Lord Nuffield, m an article in the Sunday Times, said: “I am dismayed when I think how little we in Britain realise the tremendous contribution which the Empire countries have made to our success. Their stupendous effort has left its mark on these countries. “ Militarily they will never again allow themselves to be* unprepared to meet aggression, no matter from what quarter it may come, for the aeroplane has made the world one vast potential battlefield. The Empire has been politically welded into a new, vital world force. Their effort and sacrifice alongside ours have done more than any chatter of politicians around a conference table could ever do to unite us as an Empird. “If those who are dubious about the future could see what I have seen they would know that this great brotherhood of nations must become a more powerful and more respected force for the good of the whole world.”
