By Sentinel Gold Bar has been re-assessed at 2.9, 2.42 and 4.26. The stallion Bayard, 4min 13 2-ssec, has been sold to go to South Australia. In eight starts this season Dundee Sandy has won four times. Navigate was considered a bit unlucky to suffer a narrow defeat by Dundee Sandy in the Canterbury Handicap. Dundee Sandy was a gift horse from Mr J. R. McMurray, of Gore, to B. Rushton. Consequently the horse is not on the market. It is claimed in some quarters that Dundee Sandy ranks as one of the best oacers bred in Southland. He won in 4min 21 l-sscc at Addington, and as he is only a hvt-yeai-old seems certain to train on to a better mark. Dundee Sandy is credited with pacing the last mile of the Canterbury Handicap in 2min 4sec and the last, half-mile in 59 2-ssee. As Navigate was with Dundee Sandy, it shows (hat the Eandydale gelding is a rather remarkable four-year-old. F. J. Smith is importing Air Ace, a seven-year-old star,lon by Walla Walla Lorn a JacK Pitts mare, and a three-year-old bay colt by Walla Walla from a mare by Torpedo Huon with a second dam ranking as the producer of Wilveranj The Trotting Calendar reports that of the £231,379 invested on the totalisator during the Easter meeting at Addington 82.6 per cent, was in 10s tickets, 15.2 per cent, in £l. and 2.2 per cent, in £5 tickets. The investments were a record for a two-day meeting at Addington, and were £35,828 10s abovt last year’s figures. During six days' racing this season-the totalisator has registered £781,612 10s. This does not Include the partiotlc meetings.
