MAGISTRATE’S COURT
■ TRAFFIC OFFENCES The following cases were brought by the transport department (Inspector J. M. Henderson) before Mr H. W. Bundle. S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon:— George Ronald Adamson was convicted and ordered to pay costs (10s) for operating a motor lorry without a heavy traffic licence. The defendant stated that he had held a licence for 23 years, but he forgot to renew it on this occasion. The magistrate treated the case as one of carelessness. ' George Raymond Hunter w'as fined 5s and costs (10s) for driving a tractor on the Pukeuri main highway without a driver’s licence. Harry Collett was fined 20s and costs (10s) for operating a motor vehicle of such constructional condition as to be liable to cause annoyance by reason of noise. Inspector Henderson stated that he stopped the car in Thames street. It was very noisy and had no silencer but, he said, it had been attended to since. For driving a motor vehicle without a warrant of fitness, Steward James Richmond was fined 5s and costs (10s).
