R.S.A. TRUST FUND
SERVICEMEN OF PRESENT WAR TO BENEFIT GIFT FROM PACIFIC FORCE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 21. The generosity of New Zealand troops who served in the Pacific has enabled the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association to create a new trust fund for the benefit of servicemen of the present war or their dependents. It is called the “ Second World War Fund.”
The nucleus of the fund was provided by £6BO from the committee responsible for the disbursement of the regimental funds of the New Zealand Pacific Force. This committee has decided that a committee be set up with a view to publishing the regimental histories. The cost of these histories will be the first charge on the funds, and the surplus will be paid to the Returned Services’ Association for the general purposes of the association. It will be some time before the surplus is available, but it has been decided that certain special funds, amounting to £6BO, will be made immediately available to the association.
