WOOL SURPLUS

LONDON CONFERENCE OPENING ON APRIL 16 (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 19. The following statement regarding the Wool Conference, which was released simultaneously in London, South Africa, and Australia, was issued to-night by the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser: —

“Arrangements have been made for a discussion to be opened in London on April 16 between the United Kingdom officials and technical experts and similar representatives from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa for the purpose of considering and reporting to the four Governments on matters arising out of the accumulations of wool purchased by the British Government from the dominions under the war-time arrangements, and in particular how these stocks may best be disposed of concurrently with future clips of dominions’ wool.”
