ESCAPED NAZI PRISONERS

MAJORITY CAPTURED

SIXTEEN STILL AT LARGE LONDON, Mar. 16.

Only 16 of 70 German war prisoners who escaped from the Bridgend camp in Wales last Sunday are still free. Three yesterday accepted a cup of tea from a farmer, and while they were drinking he sent for the police. Three strangers who boarded a bus near Cwmgrach offered fares, but did not speak. Miners in the bus became suspicious, and spoke to the driver, who drove straight to the police station. Thus three more prisoners were recaptured. Two of the prisoners were caught trying to break into a large country house about five miles from the Bridgend camp. The house happened to be one of the headquarters establishments of the Glamorgan County police.
