CALEDONIAN SOCIETY'S SPORTS

Numerous entries have been received for all the events at the sports meeting which will be held at the Caledonian Grounds to-day. and interesting contests are assured. A similar meeting held about a month ago in Invercargill by the Southland Society attracted an attendance of about 8000, and as many of the same competitors will be competing here a record crowd is expected.

The £2O Tug-of-war contest is creating widespread interest, and all the teams have been doing steady training. A special. attraction for the children will be a merry-go-round, which will be in use if the weather is suitable.
