“HIT THE JACKPOT”

29 JAPANESE IN ONE DAY NEW YORK. Mar. 15. Sergeant Clifford Harmon had not killed a single Japanese during four years’ service until he “ hit the jackpot” by polishing off 29 in one day recently, says the Associated Press Manila correspondent. Harmon killed 26 Japanese in five minutes with a flame thrower. Clubbed another to death with an empty weapon, picked off a straegler with a grenade, and finished the day by mowing down another Japanese with a tommy gun.
