FINLAND’S POLICY

RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA NO LONGER AN ENEMY (Rec. 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 16. “ Finland's foreign policy must henceforth be based on her relations with Russia.” declared the Prime Minister, M. Passikivi. broadcasting on the Helsinki radio regarding the general election, which will be held to-mor-row and on Sunday. “ The election is of tremendous foreign political importance. Our country's position was changed completely through the armitice, by which our unfortunate war was terminated. “ Our relations with Russia will in the future be of decisive importance and we must convince Russia of our firm determination never again to direct our policy against her. The term ‘ traditional enemy ’ must forever be forgotten. “ We have lost two wars in the last few years and this has given us an extremely valuable lesson.”
