DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club, held yesterday, Was attended by Messrs L. C. Hazlett (chairman). C. N. Draper. A. Clark, A. P. Greenfield, R. W. Wilson, W. H. Elliott, D. M. Reid, F. Tyson, W. Garrett, R. C. B. Greenslade, A. N. Smith, and. K. Clark. The Racing Conference advised that June 9 had been approved as the date for the extra permit granted to the club, provided that June 4, the King’s Birthday, is observed as a public holiday. This means that the winter meeting will extend over three days—June 2, 4. and 9. Five new members were elected. It was decided to close the membership list until further accommodation at the course has been provided for members. In this connection it was stated that the club had made every endeavour to obtain a permit to proceed with proposed extensions to the members’ stand, but there was no possibility of securing one in the meantime. The plans had been prepared for some time.
