TURKEY TAKES ACTION REQUEST OF WESTERN ALLIES RUGBY, Jan. 3. Ankara radio announces that at today’s meeting of the Turkish National Assembly it was unanimously decided to break off diplomatic and economic relations with Japan as from Saturday. The closing of the Japanese Embassy will remove a Japanese watching post over the European scene. It is understood that the Turkish Government was approached by the British and American Governments, who iAtimated that it would be considered a friendly gesture if Turkey severed relations with Japan. The present situation will continue until midnight on Saturday.
