SOUTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT
FINALS OF RINKS AND SINGLES (PA.) INVERCARGILL. Jan. J. The finals in the Rinks and Singles events in the South Island tournament were played on the Te Rangi green this evening. The Rinks final was played between Georgetown and Invercargill, and resulted in a win for Georgetown by 29 to 17. In the playoff for third and fourth places Bluff beat Otago by 19 to 16. The rinks were: Georgetown—A. Hunter, L. Smith, S. Glover, A. McKenzie; Invercargill—T. Robertson, E. J. Jones. I. Henry, H. L. Hay; Bluff—G. Edginton, T. Stanley, H. Peterson, W. W. McGorlick; Otago—F. W. Lindsay, C. B. Fay, J. W. Thomas, W. W. Callender. J. Ure (North End) and R. Reid (Nightcaps) played off in the Singles final and Ure won on the nineteenth head by 20 to 10. W. Spencer (R.S.A.) and J. A. Israel (Kaituna) played off for the third and fourth places in the morning, Spencer winning by 25 to 6. The finals of the Pairs will be played on the Te Rangi green to-morrow morning. R. McNish (Canterbury) will play W. J. McKay (Roslyn) in the final, and M. McKenzie (Te Rangi) and D. F. Tait (Hokonui) will play off for third and fourth places.
