CASES BEFORE COMMITTEE REDUCTIONS IN PRICES The Otago Land Sales Committee— Messrs E. J. Anderson (chairman), D. J. Ross, and N. McNamara—dealt with 50 applications for the approval of property transactions yesterday. Reductions were made in the sale prices of 10 properties, the total amount involved being £1266. Reduction of £450 A reduction of £450 was made in the purchase price of the property, section 32, block 3, Waikouaiti subdivision, Puketeraki, owned by Helena Mary Isabel Sutherland and sold to Frances Margaret MacGregor Stewart. The consideration shown in the application was £2300, and the committee, in a reserved decision, fixed the price at £IBSO. At the hearing, the vendor was represented by Mr W. F. Forrester. The sale of the garage at the corner of Anderson’s Bay road and Crawford street, owned by Henry George Maddox. to David Keith Knowles and Stanley Charlton Knowles, was granted by consent at £7OOO, the following apportionments being made:—Land and buildings £4250. stock £4OO, plant £I6OO, and goodwill £750. Mr J. E. Brunton appeared for the vendor. Hotel Case Adjourned

The application of Cochrane Weir Henderson for the transfer of the Bannockburn Hotel, Cromwell, to Augustus Fairbairn was adjourned in order to hear evidence on the question of goodwill. The purchase price was £3650, which included goodwill.
