AUCKLAND DISAPPROVAL
VOTE OF NO-CONFIDENCE IN EXECUTIVE
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 20. Its strongest disapproval of the P. and T. Amendment Bill giving to the service an advisory tribunal instead of a mandatory tribunal, which has been long the standing policy of the association, is expressed in a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Auckland section of the P. and T. Employees’ Association to-day. The resolution adds that over 2000 officers who were serving overseas would expect the policy of the association to be adhered to, and that the decision of the president and the Dominion, Executive was a betrayal of the trust placed in them. The section demands that the Bill be withdrawn and the matter put to the service by a referendum. A further resolution, which is to be sent to the general secretary of the association, states that the Auckland Committee is of the opinion that the Executive Committee is no longer competent to handle the future affairs of the members, and a vote of no-confi-dence aqcordingly is expressed.
