AN APPEAL FOR GREECE

Sir,—l have received an appeal from Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, the Consul-general for Greece, for contributions of warm clothing and blankets for the long-suffer-ing civilians of that stricken country. The need is great, the time is short, if we would see them clothed in any semblance of warmth this coming winter. If anyone, remembering the past kindnesses by the Greeks to our soldiers overseas, feels like helping and will kindly leave all contributions at the premises of the Beau Monde, 186 Princes street, these will be forwarded to headquarters at Wellington. Mr Seddon states that for some time the Greek women of Wellington have knitted, and sewn garments, but their efforts must be augmented.—l am, etc., D. Pagonis.
