FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The fortnightly meeting of the executive committee of the Dunedin Returned Services’ Association was held last night. Mr D. Forsyth presided, and there were also present Messrs H. P. Jefcoate, C. R. McLean. W. F. McQuin, W. K. Cameron, J. B. Stewart, W. E. Earnshaw. C. G. Hedge, and A. Duncan. New Members The nominations of 61 new members including those of 53 men returned from the present war, were accepted. Six transfers in and four transfers out were noted. Christmas Treat It was decided to hold the annual Christmas treat for children of deceased servicemen, prisoners of war, and missing servicemen, on December 16. The estimated cost would be £lls, which would be covered by the sum left over from last year’s appeal. Tramway Passes Mr Earnshaw', for the Pensions Committee, reported that a deputation, consisting of himself, Mr C. E. H. Wilson (president of the Otago and Southland War Amputees’ Association), and the secretary of the Returned Services’ Association (Mr O. L. Ferens), had waited on the Transport Committee of the City Council, in connection with the issue of tram passes to disabled men. The committee had acceded to the requests of the deputation and had agreed to issue another 20 passes for those disabled men who did not receive them in the first allocation. Acknowledgments The receipt of £IOOO on account from the estate of Mr M. E. Driscoll was acknowledged. A set of photographs of the Anzac Day ceremony in Cairo was received from Major C. Bowie.
