GERMAN BATTLE REPORT
(Rec 9 p.m.) LONDON, July 15. A battle report to Marshal Rommel from a panzer commander has fallen into Allied hands, reports the Daily Telegraph s correspondent on the Oden front, The value of the report lies i.i the revelation of the German reaction to the succession of costly defeats. It contains an analysis of the lessors learned from an abortive panzer attack against the British salient across * “The battalion’s attack cmfld have been carried out without difficulty if artillery support had been 3thand,” it stated, “ but the time al • lotted to preparation was much too short.”
The report complains that the Allies hampered wireless communication, and it also complains that the forming up of companies on the Evrecy-Gaen road was delayed because Artillery Survey troops had not arrived. One company lost its way. “At 6.10 a.m. a regimental order was received, halting the attack and ordering a return tc. the original position.”
