PUBLIC INVESTITURE
PRESENTATION OF AWARDS V.C. WINNER INCLUDED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 10. The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, will hold a public investiture at the Town Hall, Wellington, on Wednesday evening, when approximately 60 decorations awarded by his Majesty the King to officers and men of the armed forces will be presented. The recipients will include Second-lieuten-ant Keith Elliott, V.C. As a rule investitures are held at Government House, and this will be the first occasion for many years on which such a ceremony has been held in Wellington in public. The procedure will be on similar lines to tha.t followed at the investiture which his Excellency held at Auckland last month.
