Duntroon Rainfall.—The rainfall recorded at Duntroon for June totalled 3.76 inches, compared with 3.68 inches in June, 1943. For the six months the fall was 17.63 inches, compared with 10.36 inches for the corresponding period last year.

Hospital Bus Service.—With the gran!-, ing of an extension of a licence to Mr D. K. Giffin to run a bus service to the Oamaru Public Hospital on visiting days, it was expected by the Oamaru Labour Party that the service would commence on July 1. Confirmation of the change, however, is still being awaited from Wellington, and until it is received the service cannot be commenced.
