A GERMAN SECRET WEAPON.—One of the miniature beetle tanks which the Germans first used on the Anzio front. These tanks carry 2501 b of explosive and are controlled by an electric cable, although it was first believed that they were radio-con-trolled. They are only 51 inches long and 25 inches high and are of light construction. In this photograph an American soldier is holding up the rear cover to show the drum of cable.
