Steady progress is being made in coal boring exploratory work in the Grey district under the direction of Mr R. McMillan, of the State Mines Department. Test, bores are still being put down at Rewanui,. while work has commenced on the first of the bores to be sunk in the Dobson area. This latter bore is already down 1000 feet. The 10 men on that job work three shifts. A series of bores will be sunk in the Dobson area to ascertain the extent of the coalfield.
