JOHN MCGLASHAN COLLEGE
MEETING OF GOVERNORS The monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of John McGlashan College was held on Thursday evening. Mr T. C. Ross presided. The board regretted to learn ot the death of Miss M. McCallum, who had been infant mistress at the college for 13 years. . ‘ . The headmaster, Mr T. S. Holme, stated that he had received a letter from Captain John Borrie, an old boy, who has been a prisoner of war for the past three years, describing his experiences in a German prison camp. Word had a.so been received unofficially of an old bov who had been awarded the M.C. on tne field for distinguished conduct at Cassino. The board received with regret the resignation of Mr Charles Baker, who had been a member for many '"ears, and whose four sons had all been educated at the college. A minute of appreciation of MiBaker’s services was passed. Mr J. D. Fletcher agreed to ask the McGlashan Association to renew some ol the gymnasium eouipment Miss Riddell, the travelling secretary of the S.C.M., had paid a visit to the college, and talked to the boys about the Swiss International Schoci. which she attended, and later conducted a conversational French lesson with the sixth form.
