AMERICAN PARATROOPS

ROAMING BEHIND ENEMY LINES LONDON, June 14. Many hundreds of American paratroops dropped behind the enemy lines to launch the invasion are still roaming occupied areas in France attacking German installations, says Reuter’s correspondent in Normandy. The majority of the paratroops fought their way through the enemy liifts, accomplished their missions, and are now the spearheads of the Allied drives against key positions in the Cherbourg Peninsula. Bearded and dirty soldiers, many of them wounded, are returning to the Allied front lines almost hourly throughout the day, many of them with prisoners. All reported bitter night and day battles. •
