OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN
ANNUAL MEETING OF BOARD The annual meeting of the Dunedin Ocean Beach Domain Board was held m the City Council Chambers yesterday afternoon. There were present Messrs John Wilson (chairman), D. C. Cameron, N. D. Anderson, F. Wilkinson, L. M. Wright, and J. J. Marlow. The adoption of the annual report was moved by the chairman, who said that the rest room at the nursery on the domain had been completed, and members of the Red Cross Society were providing hot meals for the leturned servicemen working there. The board was marking time with regard to the continuation of the St. Clair esplanade; it was conserving its finances, and when steel became available again the work would be carried on expeditiously. The motion was seconded by Mr* Marlow, who complimented the chairman on the excellent work he had done for the board, over a considerable number of years. • ' Mr Cameron also spoke to .the report, and said that the rest room provided at the nursery was much appreciated. by the men working there. • In reply to a question by Mr Anderson, the chairman said that the question of constructing a concrete ramp at the St Kilda entrance to the beach was under consideration by the board. , The secretary (Mr F. R. Grindley) said that the board’s financial year had closed with a credit balance of £4095. The report and balance . sheet were adopted. _ , . The Dunedin-St. Kilda Sub-zone Patriotic Committee applied for a grapt towards its patriotic funds.—lt was decided to make a donation of £SO. The Otago branch of the Surf Life-sav-ing Association applied for a grant towards the maintenance of the surf patrol. grant of £lO. , , . Mr Wilson was reappointed chairman and Mr Marlow was reappointed treasurer of the board.
