RED CROSS NOTES
Members are varying their guild activities by giving one afternoon a week to the making of garments for the Truby King-Harris Hospital.
Transport.—Three car loads of patients from the Montecillo Home were taken to Wingatui for the two Saturday race meetings. Thirty returned patients were the guests of the Repertory Society at His Majesty’s Theatre on Tuesday. The men were conveyed to and from their homes by members of the Transport Detachment. This action was much appreciated by the men. Thirty cars driven by members met the hospital train. Voluntary Aid Detachment.—V.A.’s from the St. Clair and Mornington Detachment# provided hot meals for cot cases travelling south in the hospital train. The walking cases were conveyed to the R.S.A:, where a hot meal was also served. V.A.’s remained on duty during the night and gave a hot breakfast to the patients before the train left. . The relief work begun by the Swiss Aid for Children Fund is becoming a worldwide welfare movement in which everyone will be called upon to play a part. The incorporation of this fund into the Swiss Red Cross has enabled help to be given to children of neighbouring countries who are suffering intensely from cold, lack of care and prolonged undernourishment.
