WOMEN MUSICIANS
The Society of Women Musicians held its monthly meeting on Monday evenjng at the Otago Women's Club. Mrs Beaumont, the president, was In the chair, and as a token of goodwill presented Miss Olive Barth, the retiring secretary, with a floral tribute. After the usual business the following programme was given:—A talk on the composer Leschetizky, Miss Ruth Moore: two piano solos. “ The Two Larks ” (Leschetizky) and
" Capriccio ” (BrahmS), Miss Mable Miller; songs, “ When I See Thee Draw Near,” “ The Ring,” and “ Spring Fancies” (Rubenstein),, Mrs Whitworth, accompanied by Miss Meda Paine; a talk on the composer Selim Palmgren, Miss Irene Barth; piano solos, " The Sea ” (Palmgren) and “ Waldesrauchen ” (Liszt), Miss Jean Nelson; a talk by Mrs Dorothy Scott: songs. “My Heart is Like a Singing Bird,” “Armida’s Garden,” and “ The Maiden” (Hubert Parry), Miss Dora Drake, accompanied by Miss Jessie Jones. Miss Hilliker proposed a vote of thanks to the performers.
