REPORTING OF D-DAY

400,000 WORDS FROM LONDON RUGBY, June 13. The news of the landings in France created a record for the number of words transmitted from London to all parts of the world by cables and radio. On D-Day some 400,000 words were despatched. This total was almost doubled on June 9, when it reached over 700.000 words.
