The trading profit of Cammell Laird and Co., Ltd., for 1943, after providing for depreciation and taxation, amounted to £142,105, in comparison with £144,882 for the previous 12 months, to which is added £129,911 (£129,834) income from investments and back interest, and £382 (£285) transfer fees, making a total available of £272,398 (£275,001). After providing for debenture stock interest, sinking fund and fees and £50,000 for contingencies (against £60,000 for deferred repairs in the previous year), there was a net profit of £199,292 (£192.122). The amount brought in was £105.983 (£102.811), making a total available of £305,275 (£294,733). The final dividend on the ordinary stock is 6 per cent., making 10 per cent, for the year (same), and £100,009 is transferred to general reserve (same), leaving to be carried forward £116,525.
