PARTISANS’ SUCCESSES

GERMANS FORCED BACK (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, June 12. Heavy fighting continues in Western Bosnia, states a Jugoslav partisan communique. In Croatia the enemy, after stubborn fighting, has been driven from the localities of Korencia, Vrelo, and Homoljac, in the Lika province. In Slovenia units of the Fourth Brigade took by storm strongly-fortifiod enemy positions. The enemy is falling back on the Sava River. In the region of Krka a German column was smashed. German offensive operations in* the Gorensko Mountains continue. The Air Ministry’s news service says the effectiveness of Allied air attacks, which are causing great destruction to* enemy transport on land and sea, as well as destroying supply dumps, has been acknowledged by partisan commanders in msssages of congratulations to pilots of Spitfires operating along the Dalmatian coast. One coastal air force group operating from Southern Italy destroyed during May 23 enemy aircraft and 400 road vehicles, including tanks, petrol bowsers, an ammunition carrier, staff cars, several locomotives, and about 100 goods wagons. Ten sizable ferries and schooners, 12 merchant vessels, a medium-sized tanker, and several E-boats and barges have been wrecked or severely damaged.
