MEN AND MATERIALS . LONDON, June 12. The scales have been tipped in favour of the Allies in France by an almost overwhelming superiority of men and material, and their air and sea superiority is also practically unchallenged, said Berlin radio's war reporter* Four-engined bombers hover all day ovfer the battlefield, and the German Command is sometimes forced to suspend the day-time flow of supplies. A constant hail of shells from Allied warships cruising off Normandy has rendered unusable many vital German roads behind the front, for which reason difficulty was being found in bringing up supplies and .reinforcements. The Allied naval batteries have also knocked out German tank columns. The Allied tank spearheads in many places have punched wedges in the German lines. v . German veterans from Russia and North Africa unanimously regard the Normandy fighting as the. grimmest experienced.
