WINTER SHOW
LARGE ATTENDANCES
Large crowds attended the Winter Show of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society on Saturday The competitive exhibits and trade displays all attracted a great deal of attention, but, as is perhaps not remarkable in wartime, the military display proved of special interest, containing as it does a number of pieces of equipment about which the public has, in the past, remained largely in ignorance. On Saturday the Dunedin Ladies’ Brass Band provided an enjoyab'e musical programme. Prominent among \the exhibitors of fruit in the main show, was J. Cockburn, of Ettrick, whose display in the classes for plates of apples won no fewer than five first awards, six seconds and five thirds.
