BALCLUTHA STOCK SALE
At the fortnightly sale yesterday a healthy tone prevailed throughout. There was a good yarding of fat sheep. Best fat wethers sold at up to 32s 6d; medium wethers, 22s 6d to 275: heavy ewes, to 23s 6d; freezing ewes, 14s to 18s: light and plain, down to 10s; fat lambs. 22s to 255. Store Sheep.—A medium yarding. Best ewe lambs realised 28s to 32s 6d; medium, 24s to 26s 9d; best forward wether lambs, 19s to 21s; small, down to 12s; full and failing-mouth ewes, 123 6d to 20s; cull ewes. 5s to Bs. Fat Cattle.—Fat heifers sold from £7 to £lO, and cows from £6 to £lO 10s. Store Cattle.—A good yarding. Best forward bullocks sold from £lO to £ll 10s; medium, three-year bullocks, £8 17s 6d to £9; two-year steers, from £6 to £8 10s; empty heifers, £2 to £5 12s 6d; heifer calves, £4. Pigs.—A small yarding, and suckers sold at 21s to 28s. Several draught horses sold at up to £l3.
