MEN’S BASKETBALL

The Otago men’s basketball competitions were continued this week in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium. An interesting game was played between tire two unbeaten teams in the First Grade competition, Boys and University. The University shooting was not as accurate as usual, and many chances were missed. The Boys’ backs played a good game, and much credit must go to them for keeping the University score down. The shooting of the Boys’ forwards was particularly good, and proved the deciding factor in the game. The final result was Boys 23, University 9,

The results were as follows:—First Grade: Boys 23, University 9; Brockville 26, Training College 8; Air Force 26, St. Kilda 22. Second Grade: Anglican 16, Y.M.C.A. 10; Training College 2, University nil; A.T.C. 13, St. Kilda 11; Brockville 14, Sea Cadets 13; Boys 31; University 7. Third Grade: Brockville 2, University nil; Training College 5, A.T.C. 4; Y.M.C.A. 31, Air Force 12.

The following is the draw for next week’s maiches which will be played m the Y.M.C.A gymnasium, Moray place, on Tuesday ano Thursday nights:—Tuesday: 7 p.m., Brockville v. University; 7.36 p.m., Training College v. Air Force; 8.12 p.m. Air Force v. Boys; 8.48 p.m.. Training College v. St. Kilda; 9.24 p.m., Y.M.C.A. v University; 10 p.m., A.T.C. v. Brockville. Thursday: 7.30 p.m., St. Kilda v. Boys: 8.12 p.m., U.S.A. Navy v. Brockville; 8.48 p.m., A.T.C., v. Brockville; 9.24 p.m., Sea Cadets v. Anglican; 10 p.m., University v. Y.M.C.A.
