WOMAN KILLED IN COLLISION

(P.A.) TAURANGA, June 2. A fatal accident occurred on the Mount Maunganui road, half a mile from Kairua Station, last evening, when a light car, driven by Corporal Leonard Perry, R.N.Z.A.F., and a car driven by Mr H. P. Bryan, of Otumoetai, collided. A passenger in the light car, Mrs Grace Evelyn Berryman, aged 29, suffered head injuries and died almost immediately. Corporal Perry, who is 32 years of age, suffered abrasions. His wife, Mrs Jean Perry, aged 25, suffered a fractured nose and abrasions, and Mrs Kate Vingoe, aged 91, a passenger in Mr Bryan’s car, suffered shock and abrasions. All were admitted to hospital. Mr Bryan and his wife were uninjured.
