AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The monthly meeting of the executive of the North Otago Automobile Association was held on Monday night:. Thcie were present; Messrs I Dalmer (pievident) ,T W. Petrie, J. H. Main, 11. M. Barclay. G. A. Cartwright. J. M Wilson, H. A. Murison. D. L. Patterson, W. Gillies, D. H. Thomson. R. G. Millen, and E. W. McKeJvey. The South School Committee wrote expressing appreciation of the association s action in erecting warning signs at th Middle School.—On the motion of Mess is Main and Murison, it was agreed to write asking the Borough Council to paint thwarning signs on .the surface of Sevct n St The Friendly Bay Society wrote thanking the association for its grant and advising that the amenities at the bay were available to the association at’ any time.— Received. . . The Oamaru Borough Council advised that the question of setting aside a portion of the Medway street section as a parking area for cars had been held over for consideration when the site of the proposed R.S.A. Clubrooms had been clcfined.—Received. , . _ Mr Pet’rie pointed out the need for a concrete path and a light at the motor camp, and reported that a child bad crawled through the openings at the side of the bridge there and had almost’ iallen into the creek.—The Camp Committee was authorised to,have netting placed on the bridge and attend to the path and light. Mr Thomson submitted a brief resume of the business transacted at the halfyearly meeting of the South Island Motor Union, for which he was thanked. Accounts totalling £27 Os 5d were passed for payment.
