KURILES RAIDED AGAIN

WASHINGTON, Apl. 16. Liberators raided Matsuma, in the Kuriles, on Friday night, says a Pacific Fleet communique. Single navy search planes bombed Orluk, Nauru, Pakin, and Ulul Islands. Mitchells bombed airfields on Ponape Island, and they also bombed a small tanker and two escort vessels near Ant Island. Other bombers and fighters dropped 46 tons of bombs on four objectives in the Marshalls, one of which was severely strafed. Bomb hits were obtained on gun positions and barracks.
