NATIONAL WAR SAVINGS
QUOTA SUCCESSES (Special) WELLINGTON, Apl. 5. Mr T. N. Smallwood, chairman of tne New Zealand National War Savings Committee, announced to-day that for the week ended March 31 all the postal districts had been successful in obtaining their quotas. During the same period 234 places, including 17 of the 18 chief post office centres, had obtained their local quotas. This was 17 more than the number cf successes scored for the preceding week, and is the highest result attained since the successful flotation of the Third Liberty Loan. . For the financial year ended March 31, 17 postal tricts reached their full district quotas, while 169 towns obtained their annual quotas. This figure includes 16 of the 18 chief post office centres in New Zealand. “ Three months ago,” Mr Smallwood added, " only 125 places had been successful in obtaining the proportionate amounts of their annual quotas, and the lifting of the results in the final figures to the excellent total of 169 successful towns was due to the enthusiasm of the local committees and organisers over the last three months. >On behalf of the New Zealand committee, I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all National Savings depositors, and the committees and organisers throughout New Zealand for the success they have achieved for the financial year just ended. ,The national committee looks forward with confidence to their continued support.”
