HAMPDEN EXCEEDS QUOTA

As reported last week, Oamaru and Kurow succeeded in passing their annual miota figures for National War Savings. The returns have now come to hand, and it has been shown that Hampden also has been successful in exceeding its quota. As a result of investments made by tiie people of North Otago, £2780 will be carried forward towards the district quota next .year. Gratification at the splendid results obtained has been expressed by the deputy director-general of the Post and Telegraph Department and by the chairman of the New Zealand National War Savings Committee, in Telegrams to the chairman of the local committee (Mr M. P. Anderson). Mr Andeison paid a tribute to the members of the committee, the local organiser (Miss P. E. Shayle-George), the district organiser (Mr H. A. Griffin), and the country postmasters.
